We are happy to announce that France based artist Keiko Yanagisawa will exhibit her first solo show in Japan with the ‘Naramachi Nigiwai no ie’ Art Project.

After receiving her art education in London, Yanagisawa moved to Paris where she is now based.
She is an energetic artist, who channels her energy into traditional Japanese styles but adds a modern and personal twist.

“The natural world surrounding us is the single most intricate and perfect form of art” Yanagisawa finds her inspiration mostly from within nature, which has been her guide throughout her career as an artist. Transferring into art the delicate quality of nature, with its intricate textures and colours is what concerns her the most and this is expressed in her artwork. This is usually represented by delicate lines depicting flora through elegant and fragile pen drawings, brought to life by her choice of strong, mostly traditional Japanese colours and hues.

For the ‘Naramachi Nigiwai no ie’ Art Project, all the new work that Yanagisawa presents are created within the theme of ’24 Solar Terms’, for which she uses traditional ways of expressing the seasons in Japan.
Visitors to this exhibition will be surrounded and transported by an array of seasonal colors, even in the depths of winter.
